Join the Silo Beta

Silo is in beta testing. Beta access is invitation-only, and the exact install flow depends on whether you are using iPhone or Android.

Before you start

Use the same email address Nick added as a tester. Apple and Google are deeply literal about this, because apparently chaos was already fully booked.

Android closed testing builds must be approved by Google Play before testers can install them. You can accept a tester invite before the release is active, but the install button may not appear until review is complete.

iPhone via TestFlight

  1. Install TestFlight from the App Store.
  2. Open the invitation email on your iPhone.
  3. Tap View in TestFlight or Start Testing.
  4. Tap Accept, then Install.
  5. Open Silo and create or sign in to your account.

Updates arrive through TestFlight. Open TestFlight and tap Update, or enable automatic updates.

Android via Google Play closed testing

  1. Open the testing invite link while signed in to the Google account that was added to the tester list.
  2. Tap Become a tester or Accept invite.
  3. If the release is active, tap the Google Play install link shown on the tester page.
  4. If the install button is missing, wait for the closed test build to finish Google Play review, then refresh the tester page.
  5. Install Silo from Google Play and sign in.

Updates are delivered through Google Play. You can let them update automatically or check the Play Store listing manually.

What to test

  • Sign up and verify your email.
  • Complete household onboarding.
  • Add supplies manually and with barcode scanning.
  • Review the preparedness gauge and action plan.
  • Create an Emergency Kit and mark items packed.
  • Browse the Guides Library and try offline access.
  • Open Emergency Feeds and check alert filtering.
  • Try membership-only areas if your beta build has test access enabled.

Reporting issues

  • iPhone: Use TestFlight's Send Beta Feedback option, or take a screenshot and choose to share feedback.
  • Android: Use the Play Store testing feedback option when available.
  • Email: Send details to support@appforge.world. Include your device model, OS version, what you tapped, and what happened.

Troubleshooting

I didn't receive an invite

Check spam or junk. For iOS, look for Apple/TestFlight. For Android, use the exact Google account added to the test group. If it is still missing, email support@appforge.world.

The app will not install

iPhone: Make sure TestFlight is installed and the invite was accepted. Silo requires iOS 15 or later.

Android: Make sure the Google account matches the tester list and the closed test release has passed review. Silo requires Android 6.0/API 23 or later.

I want to leave the beta

iPhone: Open TestFlight, tap Silo, then tap Stop Testing.

Android: Open the Google Play tester page and choose Leave the programme.
